故事讲述了大学生春雨等人被卷入一个无法摆脱的名为“19层”的游戏中的故事。 从小与父亲有着隔阂的大学生春雨被卷入到一个无法摆脱的名为“19层”的游戏中。在游戏中，春雨遇到了聪明沉着的高玄，武力值强大的豆豆，以及搞怪 的杨八万等人。她和好友们一起经历了充斥着皮影的“鬼楼”，被皮俑追击的荒村等关卡，好友们因为在不同的游戏阶段过关失败，导致现实中陷入昏迷。危机重重之下，春雨决定查明她们进入游戏的原因和游戏背后的阴谋。在游戏世界和现实生活的交错中，大家学会了爱与尊重，都从逆境中感悟到了人生的意义，每个人都用了自己的方式去与困境和解，去理解父母，去接纳自己。最后，通过公安的介入，这些年轻人揭开了关于“19层”游戏背后的阴谋。春雨也最终和父亲和解，从曾经的阴影里走出来。 该剧改编自蔡骏的小说《地狱第19层》。
